Yes, it does work! I also want to thank whoever it was who posted that recipe! I did modify it, though. Instead of the baby oil, I had a bottle of Intensive Care Sunscreen Spray (non-oil based) that I added as I have very little shade and my both my horses are prone to sun bleaching. I used 12 oz. of mouthwash, 12 oz. of apple cider vinegar, and 6 oz. of the sunscreen spray. While its smell leaves lots to be desired, it dries quickly and works very well! BTW, I mentioned this to my vet - she said "Don't call me when your horse breaks out in hives" (somewhat jokingly, I think!). She was puzzled about where/what the ingredients might've been that repelled the insects. Who knows? *G*
Mix and use in a spray bottle, equal parts of:
* Listerine or other antibacterial mouth wash
* vinegar, and
* baby oil or Skin So Soft, or sunblock if your horse needs it
